What is a DUI Court?

The DUI Court started out in the 1990s in USA. The DUI Court idea was taken from the Drug court. DUI court’s main goal is to rehabilitate repeat offenders so as to prevent re-occurrence. These courts treat dui defendants that pleaded guilty and require the offenders to take responsibility of their actions. It is believed that most repeat offenders are alcoholics, and thus abstain from drinking alcohol. Once the offender undergoes treatment, social workers may randomly visit the offender’s home. Offenders may also have to submit urine analysis or blood alcohol test.
